With the NBA regular season coming to a close it's time for awards week at The Hoops Manifesto. We've teamed up with some of Bloguin's best NBA writers to vote on who gets the (virtual) hardware. Next up: Sixth Man of the Year
Voting Panel: Jeff Fox from The Hoops Manifesto, Lives from Knicks Fanatics, College Wolf and Bonk from TWolves Blog, Philip Rossman-Reich from Orlando Magic Daily, and Don from With Malice.
James Harden - Oklahoma City
31.4 mpg, 16.8 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 3.7 apg, 1.0 spg
Was there really any doubt as to who the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year was this year? Not in the minds of our voting panel, as James Harden was our unanimous choice. The best "third wheel" player in the NBA today, Harden provides scoring and backcourt versatility for the dangerous Thunder. And if the vote was for the league's best beard, Harden would surely be the unanimous winner of that, too.
Previous Award Winners: Executive of the Year, Coach of the Year, Most Improved Player
Next up: Sixth Man of the Year
The Beard is a huge STUD. Man, he'd dominate the league as the starting SG on a team like the Twolves playing with Ricky. Would have so many open shots and perfect setups. And we desperately need someone like him...
@CollegeWolf You're so cute with your little T-Wolves dreams! The Beard is locked up with OKC for another two years. And why would anyone voluntarily go to Minny?! Duh!
@Jeff Fox Trade them K-Love for The Beard and Iblocka.
@Jeff Fox I know. OKC would turn it down. :-(
@CollegeWolf That's heresy.
