Written by Jeff Fox on .

Marquis Teague
Kentucky - Freshman (Born 1993)
Point Guard
6'2" 180lbs

The Good:

- 6'7" wingspan
- true "pass first" point guard
- great genes/pedigree - brother Jeff plays for the Hawks
- big game experience
- exception athlete
- great leaper - 40.5" vertical
- extremely fast and agile
- got better and better as season progressed
- plenty of potential - only 19-years-old

The Bad:

- undersized for the NBA
- poor shooter
- not much of a scorer
- very young/inexperienced
- doesn't get to the free throw line
- turnover prone
- won't be ready to contribute right away - a project

NBA Comparison:

Jeff Teague, Kyle Lowry

The Skinny:

Marquis Teague is definitely a project, but the physical tools are there to make him a solid NBA point guard.

Ehhhhhhhh, definitely not sold at all. Maybe if a team was really desperate for a PG or something.

@CollegeWolf He's definitely a long-term prospect.  His brother didn't really breakout until this season, his third in the NBA, and he was farther along developmentally than Marquis heading into the NBA.
