2012 NBA Draft Profile: Tony Wroten

Written by Jeff Fox on .

Tony Wroten
Washington - Freshman (Born 1993)
Center
6'6" 203lbs

The Good:

- 6'9" wingspan
- great size for the NBA
- good scorer
- great at drawing fouls
- good rebounder, especially offensively
- can play either backcourt position
- lefty
- good playmaker
- great in the open floor
- potential
- NBA athlete

The Bad:

- horrible outside shooter
- turnover prone
- needs to work on his handle, especially his off-hand
- makes some poor decisions on the floor
- still very young - won't be able to step in & contribute immediately
- horrible free throw shooter

NBA Comparison:

Tyreke Evans

The Skinny:

A Tyreke Evans-like prospect available at the end of the first round?  Tony Wroten is definitely worth the pick for a team in the 20-30 range.

@CollegeWolf Not that Tyreke is that good of a player, but Wroten is worth the risk for a good team to draft late in the first round and let him develop.

@CollegeWolf And I should clarify that I'm not thinking that Wroten will be as good as Evans in the NBA - just similar type players.
