Darko Milicic might have been freed from his Motor City oppressors five years ago, but the alt-basketball writers' collective that he inspired, FreeDarko, is still going strong. Having been a big fan of their first book (not to mention their website), I awaited their latest literary effort, FreeDarko Presents The Undisputed Guide to Pro Basketball History, with great anticipation. And, not surprisingly, the boys didn't let me down.

Everyone loves Cinderella this time of year. After all, half the fun of March Madness is rooting for the underdogs (unless they are playing against your favourite team, of course), and the NCAA Tournament never fails to deliver. Year after year a scrappy, ragtag mid-major team pulls off a couple of upsets and makes a run in the tournament. However, just like in the fairy tale, eventually the clock strikes midnight and the team's chariot turns back into a pumpkin and the small school boys get bounced by one of the big dogs. no comments

The Miami Heat's "Big Three" are still the top producing threesome in the NBA, but the Lakers are hot on their tails. When you take a look at combined Win Shares (which is what our rankings are based on), the Heat and the Lakers are heads and shoulders above their peers. Here's the four edition of our The Real Big Three Rankings.

'Tis the season to search for Cinderella. Part of the fun - and the madness - of the NCAA Tournament is rooting for the underdog to knock off the big boys. It's even more fun if you are able to predict in advance which underdog will be the one doing the upsetting. That's where The Hoops Manifesto comes to the rescue - we know where to look. Just look for the teams with the number '12' beside them.
