There are certain things we take as a given in life - death, taxes, Tim Duncan playing in the NBA All-Star Game. But, sometimes, not everything we assume as a certainty turns out to be the case (and, no, we don't have a magical elixir that will let you cheat death, sorry.) - Tim Duncan is not guaranteed an All-Star spot this season. What's more unfathomable - that Duncan has never played an NBA season without being an All-Star, or that he might not make the All-Star team this year?
Duncan making the All-Star team has been a moot point these past 12 seasons - the only year he hasn't been voted in as a Western Conference All-Star starter was his rookie season. But this year The Big Fundamental is a distant fifth in voting and looks like a long shot to get an automatic invite to Los Angeles. Add in the fact the Duncan is having a down year, statistically, and we can, for the first time, ask the question "Is Tim Duncan All-Star Worthy?"

The Daily Dunk is a regular feature on The Hoops Manifesto where we search the many corners of the internet to find the best dunk videos to save you the time and trouble. Consider it your one-stop shop for rim-rattling, death-defying, baby-crying, slam-jamming dunkerific fun. Today's installment: Rafael Araujo shatters a Brazilian backboard.
Rafael Araujo - that's the very last name I would expect to show up in our Daily Dunk feature, but lo and behold, the NBA bust has shocked us all. Here he is shattering a backboard in his native Brazil.

Is the Los Angeles Clippers curse over? This might seem like a silly time to ask this, what with the team's current 13-24 record, but make no mistake about it - things are looking up in Clipperland. In fact, I started writing this article even before they knocked off the Miami Heat last night. The Clippers are actually one of the hottest teams in the NBA currently, going 7-3 over their last 10, including victories over the Nuggets and at Chicago. These are heady times for a franchise that has only made the playoffs seven times in its 40 years of existence.

The first round of our Big Three Rankings showed that Miami's trio of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh really weren't the "big three" of the NBA - they were topped by Paul Gasol, Lamar Odom and Kobe Bryant of the Lakers and Deron Williams, Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson of Utah (measured by total Win Shares). Well, since that time, things done changed. Miami has gone on tear, thanks in no small part to the Three Amigos, and, subsequently, James-Wade-Bosh find themselves atop our latest Big Three Update.
