The internets are ablaze due to this dunk Keith Appling threw down a few minutes ago against Iowa.  Many are calling it the Dunk of the Year.  You be the judge:

NCAA's Biggest Surprises

Written by Jeff Fox on .

(Debby Wong-USA TODAY Sports)

This has been a wacky college basketball season.  Teams are playing hot potato with the #1 spot in the polls, the defending champs have fallen off the face of the earth, and a "mid-major" team is currently at the top of the heap.  With the madness of March just around the corner, let's take a look back at the biggest surprises - both positive and negative - this NCAA season.  To do this, let's compare our preseason NCAA top 25 with the current AP poll to see which teams have surprised the most.

Missner's Manifesto: March Madness, Minus The Brackets

Written by Perry Missner on .

(John David Mercer-USA TODAY Sports)

Each year I try to do something new with the NCAA tournament. Two years ago I recorded the CBS and ESPN Selection Sunday specials, then watched them just before the Final Four to see how the experts did with their instinctual picks. That was the year that VCU went from the First Four to the Final Four and none of the experts even mentioned them as a deep, deep sleeper. I guess that shows experts (which some people might lump me in that group) can not predict the future better than anyone else. By the way, if you want more information on how poor experts are at predicting the future, you can read the books of Nassim Nicholas Taleb, including The Black Swan.

I was trying to figure out how to adequately sum up what happens in this video so I could come up with a concise title for this article, but there's just too much to summarize.  Jamal Crawford.  Blake Griffin.  Dunk.  Enjoy.

Written by Jeff Fox on .

(Peter G. Aiken-USA TODAY Sports)

Shabazz Muhammad's lock on the first overall position on our consensus 2013 NBA mock draft has been broken.  A new freshman - Ben McLemore of Kansas - has taken the crown.... for now.

Rather than fill cyberspace up with yet another mock draft, The Hoops Manifesto has determined the consensus top 60 prospects for the 2013 NBA Draft.  We took the mock drafts from four of the web's best: DraftExpress, NBADraft.net, NBA Draft Room, and WalterFootball.com, crunched the numbers and came up with our list.
