It's hard to remember during this time of Madness, but the NBA is still currently up and running. Me and my Bloguin basketball brothers recently sat down (virtually, of course - I'm too antisocial for face-to-face encounters) to hash out what we expect to happen once the college kids stop stealing the spotlight and the NBA playoffs roll around. And while I'm not quoted in Part 1 of the story, it is still worth a look-see:
The Daily Dunk is a regular feature on The Hoops Manifesto where we search the many corners of the internet to find the best dunk videos to save you the time and trouble. Consider it your one-stop shop for rim-rattling, death-defying, baby-crying, slam-jamming dunkerific fun. Next up: Corey Brewer on Robin Lopez.
Robin Lopez, I applaude your effort. But I thought you had to be smart to go to school at Stanford?!

I'm a couple days late on this one, but it is worth the wait. Apparently Trey Starks hasn't been informed that 5'11" high school kids aren't supposed to be able to dunk like this. Come on kid, get with the program.

The Madness is almost upon us. The wonderful time every year where we can plant ourselves on the couch and watch basketball for 12 hours straight on the tube. 16 NCAA games on Thursday, 16 more on Friday. What could be better than that?! But, obviously, not all the games are created equal, so you need to know which games are the ones you really have to go out of your way to catch (not that you are planning on leaving your couch except for occasional bathroom breaks). So here is The Hoops Manifesto's five must-see NCAA Tournament First Round games.

You've got to have a lot of confidence to pull off a 360 dunk in a game with a defender hot on your heels. Apparently lack of confidence is not an issue for Jason Richardson.

With Julius Erving's playing days over for 23 years now, it would be a good time to look back and reflect on the amazingimpact Dr. J had on the game we love. Luckily, Vincent M. Mallozzi has done all the heavy lifting for us and penned Doc: The Rise and Rise of Julius Erving.

Vince Carter eat your heart out - Cal State Fullerton's Gerard Anderson pulled off his own Dunk of Death last night in the Big West tournament.

Is this J.R. Smith 360 alley oop the dunk of the year? In my books it is at least the best dunk from the NBA this year, if not from any league. Anyone have any objections to that?
