Now even the cute, cuddly ones are turning into monsters.  Chris Paul is supposed to be a team leader.  An upstanding citizen.  A shining light in a battered and beaten city.  A real swell guy.  So what in the name Kobe Bean Bryant is going on here?  Cute little Chris Paul is demanding a trade because he wants to win a championship?  You got things a little confused here, Mr. Paul - winning a title is not a right, it's a privilege.

Guess what, Chris? The vast majority of your colleagues in the NBA want to win a title.  And guess what else, Chris?  Just because you are a "superstar" player doesn't mean you are owed an NBA Title.  Maybe it's the envy of seeing James, Wade, Bosh and company have so much fun going ring chasing this month that has blurred your thought process (obviously you aren't thinking right - the Knicks are one of the teams you'd like to be traded to).  So, let's clear things up for you - those guys were FREE AGENTS; you, on the other hand, are UNDER CONTRACT with the Hornets for two more seasons.  Remember those papers you signed two years ago?  Yeah, that was a FOUR year contract.  Last time I checked my calendar it isn't 2012 yet.

But the team isn't headed in the right direction, you plead.  They're making bad trades and trying to cut salary.  True, good points indeed.  Things haven't gone quite the way you envisioned things when you signed your contract.  But, guess what?  The Hornets weren't counting on you missing almost half of last season due to injury, either.  And I'm pretty sure they still paid you your full $13.5 million salary, right?  So, you trying to force a trade would be the exact same deal as the Hornets not paying you all your money last year.  A contract is a contract.  Your word is bond, right?

So, Chris, please stop acting like the rest of the spoiled punks in the League and go back to being a leader of your team.  Make your teammates better.  Let management know you aren't satisfied with how things are going, but do that privately.  You want to win a ring and aren't happy in New Orleans, then wait until 2012 and sign somewhere else (but please don't hold a TV special to announce it).  Because, they way you are acting right now is a low blow to the organization, its fans and the city of New Orleans.  But, then again, you know a thing or two about low blows, right Chris?
