The Hoops Manifesto has teamed up with the best NCAA hoops writers on Bloguin to vote on our NCAA All-American teams after the first month of play. These teams will be updated monthly going forward until the end of the college hoops season next spring. Here's the 10 best players, in our estimation, at this early point in the season.
Voters: Jeff Fox from The Hoops Manifesto, fetch and tallguy from The Beadlemaniacs, Jamie from Suns Stuff't, Phillip from Rise Northwestern, Flounder from Leftover Hot Dog and Marco Radenkovich from Heels to the Hardwood (coming soon).
First Team All-Americans

Kemba Walker - Guard - Connecticut - Junior
30.0 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 3.3 apg, 2.3 spg
Jimmer Fredette - Guard - BYU - Senior
24.8 ppg, 4.8 apg, 2.3 rpg, 2.3 spg
Kyrie Irving - Guard - Duke - Freshman
14.5 ppg, 5.8 apg, 3.7 rpg, 1.5 spg
Terrence Jones - Forward - Kentucky - Freshman
20.7 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 2.2 apg, 2.5 bpg
Jared Sullinger - Forward - Ohio State - Freshman
14.5 ppg, 9.3 rpg, 1.3 spg
Synopsis: The trend of precocious freshman dominating the NCAA (at least from an individual standpoint) continues this season, with three frosh making our first team. The big surprise is Kentucky's Terrence Jones, who, despite not even being the most heralded recruit for the Wildcats this season (that would be Brandon Knight and the non-eligible Enes Kanter) he's been one of the best players in the nation. The other two youngsters - Kyrie Irving and Jared Sullinger - were expected to be impact players from the get-go and they have been that and more. The "old men" on the list are Jimmer Fredette, the only non-BCS player to make either of our lists, and Kemba Walker, who has doubled his scoring output this season, including dropping 42 points on Vermont a couple of weeks ago.
Second Team All-Americans
Nolan Smith - Guard - Duke - Senior
16.8 ppg, 5.7 apg, 5.2 rpg
Jordan Hamilton - Guard/Forward - Texas - Sophomore
22.7 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 17-36 3pts
Kyle Singler - Forward - Duke - Senior
16.2 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 20-21 free throws
Marcus Morris - Forward - Kansas - Junior
19.0 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 67.7% FG
JaJuan Johnson - Forward/Center - Purdue - Senior
16.5 ppg, 8.8 rpg, 2.5 bpg
Synopsis: Duke's senior leaders, Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler, have been overshadowed by Irving so far, but they are still both off to solid starts for the defending champs. Jordan Hamilton has been on a tear and has Texas primed to be a potential darkhorse contender this season. Marcus Morris, as expected, has been the best Jayhawk this year, and JaJuan Johnson is doing his best to make up for the lost productionfrom injured teammate Robbie Hummel.
