The Hoops Manifesto has teamed up with the best NCAA hoops writers on Bloguin to vote on our NCAA All-American teams after the second month of play. These teams will be updated monthly going forward until the end of the college hoops season next spring. Here's the 10 best players, in our estimation, at this early point in the season.
Voters: Jeff Fox from The Hoops Manifesto, Phillip from Rise Northwestern, Flounder from Leftover Hot Dog and Marco Radenkovich from Horns to the Hardwood.
First Team All-Americans

Guard - Kemba Walker - Connecticut - Junior
26.1 ppg, 5.2 rpg, 3.9 apg, 2.4 spg
Guard - Jimmer Fredette - BYU - Senior
24.1 ppg, 4.4 apg, 3.2 rpg
Guard - Nolan Smith - Duke - Senior
18.6 ppg, 5.6 apg, 4.7 rpg
Forward - Jared Sullinger - Ohio State - Freshman
18.1 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 59.5 % FG
Forward/Center - JaJuan Johnson - Purdue - Senior
19.9 ppg, 8.0 rpg, 2.2 bpg
Synopsis: Kemba Walker's push for National Player of the Year honours continues unabated, as even tough Big East play hasn't really slowed him down any (24.7 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 3.7 apg in conference play). Less surprisingly, Jimmer Fredette has lead the nationally ranked BYU Cougars with his scoring and heady play. With freshman teammate Kyrie Irving sidelined indefinitely, Nolan Smith has picked up the slack for the Blue Devils, posting at least 22 points, five boards and four assists in each of their past four games. Irving's injury also makes Ohio State's Jared Sullinger the favourite for National Freshman of the Year honours, as he's been an automatic double-double for the undefeated Buckeyes. Finally, Purdue's JaJuan Johnson has shown in the early going that he is one of the best big men in the nation and has the Boilermakers on track for a very successful season, despite Robbie Hummel being on the sidelines once again.
Second Team All-Americans
Guard - John Shurna - Northwestern - Junior
21.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 3.3 apg, 35-60 3pts
Guard/Forward - Jordan Hamilton - Texas - Sophomore
19.6 ppg, 6.8 rpg, 2.3 apg
Forward - Terrence Jones - Kentucky - Freshman
17.1 ppg, 9.1 rpg, 1.9 bpg
Forward - Kyle Singler - Duke - Senior
17.5 ppg, 5.8 rpg, 1.4 spg
Forward - Derek Williams - Arizona - Sophomore
18.6 ppg, 6.7 rpg, 14-20 3pts
Synopsis: No, that's no typo - a Northwestern player has made our All-American Team. While that no doubt stems from a couple of voters being Wildcats supporters, you still can't argue with John Shurna's production so far. Jordan Hamilton keeps getting it done for the Longhorns, who could be a real threat come tournament time. While Terrence Jones' play has tailed off a bit after his torrid start, he's still been one of the nation's best freshman, not to mention one of the best players. There's not much to say about Kyle Singler except the man is consistent, year in and year out. And the way he is shooting them, Arizona's Derek Williams ought to consider staying planted behind the three-point line all game long.
