Chris Bosh: Hall of Fame Lock?!

That nutty Chris Bosh - always saying and doing nutty things.  The latest?  That he's a lock to make the Hall of Fame.  What a crazy guy, right?  After all, The Hoops Manifesto's esteemed voting panel unanimously voted Bosh out of the Hall back in the summer of 2011, and we are never wrong about anything ever.  Except for this case - we could be wrong here - Chris Bosh probably is going to get into the Hall.

First, let's peruse Mr. Bosh's hoops resume:

Chris Bosh - Toronto Raptors, Miami Heat - 2003 - present

Career NBA Averages: 19.7 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.1 bpg

NBA Accomplishments:

one-time NBA champion
- eight-time NBA All-Star
- one-time All-NBA selection
- NBA All-Rookie Team

International Accomplishments:

- 2006 FIBA World Championship bronze medalist
- 2008 Olympic gold medalist

Not too shabby of a set of accomplishments, especially for only a 28-year-old.  But is it Hall worthy?  According to the basketball stats bible, Basketball-Reference, Bosh has a 89% chance at making it into the Hall of Fame (their method is explained here).  And Bosh is one of 35 players to record over 13,000 points, 6,000 rebounds, 700 blocks, and 500 steals in their NBA career.  Of the other 34 players, 20 are currently in the Hall or are a lock to go in once they are eligible.  And Bosh is by far the youngest of this group, so he'll be adding to his totals for many more years to come (not to mention the likelihood of earning another NBA ring or two).

Chris Bosh: Hall of Fame lock?  Yep, it pretty much looks that way.  But now that he has verbalized that he is Hall bound, what happens if he doesn't get in?  That would so totally be like a Bosh

No way you can say he's a "lock"... yet. He's certainly a very good player though.

@CollegeWolf True that "lock" is probably too strong of a word, but chances are he's getting in.  Especially considering his age and the fact that his numbers haven't taken a massive hit since joining Miami.  Plus winning titles increases a guy's chances of getting in.
