NBA

- One of the last of the top remaining free agents has taken himself off the market - Jamal Crawford has signed with Portland.

- Orlando might claim that he is off the table, but Dwight Howard has reiterated that his demand for a trade remains.

- A heart exam on Kings' Chuck Hayes has shown an abnormality.

- One of the league's best players has had to retire far too early due to injuries - goodbye, Brandon Roy - we hardly knew you.


NCAA

- UCLA dismissed misbehaving star Reeves Nelson from the team recently and Nelson apparently has decided he has had enough of playing for free - he's signed a pro contract in Lithuania.


International

- Former NBA player Nenad Krstic continues to dominate the Euroleague, and has been named player of the week.
